How do I change my presence status?

Last updated:

The following options are available for your presence status:

  • When you are online and available to contact on the web client / Desktop App, your status is automatically set to Online.

  • When:

    • you are only online on the mobile client, and available to contact, or

    • you are also online on the web client/ Desktop App but you appear away and probably not available on them,

your status is automatically set to Mobile - Online.

  • When you are on a call, your status is automatically set to On a call. If you are signed in only on the mobile client, your status is automatically set to Mobile - On a call.

  • When you are signed in to the Circuit web client or Desktop App (and not to the mobile client) and:

    • you are using your Circuit web client, but there is no interaction with Circuit for 40 minutes, or

    • you are using your Circuit Desktop App but either there is no interaction with your computer for 5 minutes or your computer is locked,

your status automatically changes to Away.

Being inactive on your mobile client, does not affect the "Away" status assuming that you will have your device with you at all times.

  • When you are in snooze mode, your presence status automatically changes to Do not disturb.

To manually change your presence status to "Do not disturb", select Snooze notifications from your own presence icon and choose the amount of time you want to temporarily silence all desktop and audio notifications.

  • When you sign out of Circuit on all clients/devices, your status automatically changes to Offline

Note:

As availability makes a big difference in how you can communicate and respect another person’s time, by default, your presence status is always shown in Circuit. However, there is an option to opt out of sharing your presence with other Circuit users.
