How to setup OpenScape Cloud?

Setting up OpenScape Cloud for a Circuit domain, requires your Circuit domain administrator to provide the necessary configuration data. This should cover the following:

  • Internet Telephony Service Providers that support SIP (SIP Service Providers) for connecting your OpenScape Cloud to PSTN

    Details required for every Internet Telephony Service Provider are: name, Static IP or FQDN address, SIP port and protocol. For more information regarding the supported SIP Service Providers, please refer to "Which SIP Service Provider does OpenScape Cloud support?".

  • Sites served by your OpenScape Cloud

    Details required for every site are: name; prefix used for intersite calls; default phone number; default call permissions; default language used for phone announcements and phone device settings; range of public numbers obtained from your Internet Telephony Service Provider(s); range of private numbers available at the site.

  • OpenScape Cloud users

    Details required for every user are: name; email address; site where the user is located at; public and /or private number to be assigned to the user; external Caller ID; preferred language used for phone announcements and phone device settings, device type (if the user has a desk phone).

Note:

With OpenScape Cloud, Circuit is turned into a softphone allowing you to call anyone connected to the traditional global telephony network. For users who want have a traditional phone experience, desk phones can be registered and used with OpenScape Cloud. For more information regarding the supported phones, please refer to "What SIP phones can I use with OpenScape Cloud?".

Configuration data is, currently, collected in Excel file obtained from the Sales Representative responsible for you. Provisioning is performed upon return of the filled-in spreadsheets by our Shared Service Centre (SSC) using semi-automated tools. Circuit domain administrators are, also, able to add a new site for their company which will be served by OpenScape Cloud and assign a phone number to a user via Circuit.

Once OpenScape Cloud is configured, you can request any changes by submitting a service request in a Circuit a conversation. You can download the Service Request from Circuit Portal or obtained it from Circuit User Help Desk.

Circuit domain administrators will be soon able to set up their OpenScape Cloud entirely via Circuit. Once configuration data is submitted, provisioning will be automatic.
